If
you're brave you can rent a motorbike and really earn
your "I survived Saigon" t-shirt. Many say
that this is the fastest and easiest way to get around
the city, and that's probably true as long as you don't
crash into anything.
Motorbike
rentals are ubiquitous in places where tourists
congregate - The Pham Ngu Lao area is as good as any.
Saigon Scooter Centre
(www.saigonscootercentre.com) at 25/7 Cuu Long, Ward 2, Tan Binh District, offers rentals of
classic Vespa and Lambretta scooters, and a range of
other well maintained bikes. Daily rates start from
$10usd per day and discounts are offered for longer
rentals. For an extra fee, it'll provide a one-way drop
off service, with a pick up of the bikes anywhere in
Vietnam.
